Hi, friends, and happy Tuesday! I hope the beginning of the week has been treating you well! I am really excited to share this blog post with you, today. Why? Because it is all about food. And if you know me, you know I love food.
I especially love when making good, tasty, healthy food is easy. Some days, with all the mixed messaging out there regarding food, it can seem like the most difficult thing to put together a healthy meal. Combine that with time restraints people have – school, work, making time for exercise, and free time – makes it seem impossible to do. So when I heard about Cook. Eat. Repeat. – a company based in Edmonton, that brings food right to your doorstep, and is curated by a Registered Dietitian – I had to find out more!
I was lucky enough to try out 3 amazing meals from Cook. Eat. Repeat. They were all delivered to my doorstep on the day that I chose, with ice packs to keep perishables good for a few hours before they could be refrigerated. Inside the box had all three of the ingredients for my meals separated into brown paper bags; each bag had a NUTRITION FACTS TABLE on it with nutrition facts related to the serving size of the meal – I LOVED this feature so much! Maybe it is the nutrition nerd in me, but for anyone who has ever done label reading, or is familiar with food labels, it really helps to understand the nutrition in the meal you are going to eat!
Inside each bag, there were all the ingredients I needed, packaged and labeled 🙂 As well, there was a recipe page! On this recipe page, it contained info about what should be in your bag, carbohydrate/protein/fat content, nutrition tips, time to make the meal, skill level required and whether it was a vegetarian/pescatarian/regular meal! As well as photos and instructions to help you make the meal!
The first recipe I tried out was the Summer Salmon Burger with Arugula and Lemon Dill Mayonnaise. It was heavenly. It took about 20 minutes from start to finish to prepare everything and serve it. A pure taste sensation! And so healthy!
Next, I tried out the Steak Pizzaiola with Garlic Smashed Potatoes and Fresh Tomato Sauce. This recipe took me a bit longer to make (mostly because I am a very amateur chef -it takes me like 10 minutes to dice 1 tomato), but the end result was absolutely delish! A must try!
Finally, I tried out the Oven-Baked Falafel with Couscous and Greek Yogurt Sauce. I am a huge falafel fan, and this was the first time I had ever made it, the recipe was so simple to follow and was really quick to throw together.
Overall, Cook. Eat. Repeat made making a healthy dinner, easy! The fact that the director of this company is Registered Dietitian means that you can trust that the meals being offered are healthy choices that contain an abundance of nutrients to keep you at your best!
Cook. Eat. Repeat. Will be launching soon with such an exciting menu filled with options for every skill level and diet! Make sure to sign up for their email list to be notified of when they launch!
With Love, Meg
