Happy Monday, friends! Today is a super fun day because it is National Chocolate Mousse day, so what better way to celebrate than with a healthier alternative to regular pre-packaged or powder-ready mousses! I think there may not be any!
I found the recipe for this on The Roasted Root – a 4-ingredient healthy mousse! So, of course, I had to try! Especially because 4 ingredients?!? How can one say no?!
To make this recipe, all you need is 2 large avocados peeled and pitted, 1/3 cup of raw honey, 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/4 cup of milk ( I used skim milk, but nut milk would be excellent!) and 1/8 teaspoon of sea salt! Simple, wonderful ingredients!
All you have to do it place in a food processor or blender and blend until your heart is content!
I did a taste test with my family asking them to try out the Chocolate Mousse and see how they liked it, without telling them there was avocado in it! And guess what?! They loved it! Top with strawberries and unsweetened coconut shavings and hemp hearts for an irresistible dessert filled with healthy fats! Yum!
