Oh hey, friends! Today may be the greatest “National Day” ever! Cause guess what?! It is National Chip & Dip Day!
So… what better way to celebrate than with a healthy and tasty alternative to regular chips & dip (which can be QUITE unhealthy)!
Enter: Beanitos! A bean snack that is an excellent substitute for potato chips. So why not choose to have this yummy bean chip with some guac today?!
I tried out some of the Beanitos chips including their Resturant Style & Black Bean Chips and OH MY GOODNESS – I have been converted to Bean Chips and I don’t think there is any turning back!
These chips have 7g of protein per serving (the black bean chips have 10g of protein per serving!)!! As well as, 0g Trans Fat, are gluten-free, vegan and non-GMO certified. Pretty much the ultimate snack! Oh, and PS 5g fiber! And the ingredient list literally has 4 things listed – I LOVE THIS!
So I thought, the ultimate test to see if these Bean chips are better than actual potato chips or taco chips was to pair them with the perfect dip – guacamole… and let me tell you, it passed with flying colors! AH-mazing combo! And might I say, I am quite good at making guacamole.
It is super simple. All you need is 2 soft avocados, 1/3 a white onion, 1/2 a lime, 1/4 a red pepper, sea salt and black pepper! All you have to do is chop the veggies, mash the avocado and mix together, add the lime juice and then season with sea salt and pepper to taste.
So I think every day should be National Chip & Dip Day. Or, at least once per week 😉 any excuse to have some more Beanitos!
