Hey, Guys! Happy Monday! I thought today I would start the week off on the right foot, with a little insight and a lot of motivation!
If you guys have been following along for a while, then you know one of my greatest passions is to travel. I absolutely love to explore the world, learn about new places and cultures, try new foods, see the sunset from different places and meet new people!
However, being a student full time/Dietetic Intern can make it hard to fulfill that itch of wanderlust I have every once in a while (okay, more like every week while scrolling through Pinterest).
So after reading about what other people are doing to chase their dreams (find it here), I thought I would share what I’ve learned along the way. Especially along the last 5 years of my #studentlife.
First of all, traveling or pursuing any dream does NOT have to be put on the backburner while you’re in school. As long as you plan ahead and budget, ANYTHING is achievable. Take for instance this blog, it costs money to run and upkeep, but I planned it out for over 2 years in advance to ensure that I would be able to pursue this dream! I also kept a budget of my expenses and what I was allowed to spend to prevent me from purchasing things that I wanted but didn’t need to make this dream a success.
The same thing happens with travelling;. As soon as I get the idea to travel to a new corner of the world, I plan when the most realistic time to travel there would be – both financially and well, practically. As soon as I have that set up I start really thinking about my purchases. Do I need that $5.50 Starbucks latte? Do I need 3 new lipsticks, or does one work? Do I need name brand products, or will I survive just fine on no name brand (shoutout to Superstore!)? And seriously… the savings start to roll in!
It’s honestly crazy how easy it is to spend money and not even realize the extent of it! So I guess overall, what I am trying to say is that: buying a house at a young age, traveling the world, starting a business, or whatever it may be is completely possible! All you have to do is plan and budget (even in the simplest of ways) and your dreams and goals are right around the corner!
I hope you guys enjoyed my little Monday Motivation! What are your thoughts or ways to make chasing your dreams a reality? Send me an email or fill out my contact form! I can’t wait to hear from you!
Oh and finally, that dream your thinking about right now? Just do it!
With Love, Meg
